The aim of this cocktail is to mark the official recognition of Acérum du Québec. It represents an exceptional maple brandy, produced by the fermentation and distillation of maple sap and its derivatives. This innovative spirit embodies the craftsmanship and richness of Quebec's terroir. Rich in tradition, it transforms the delicate taste of maple syrup into a refined beverage with subtle aromas, demonstrating a balance between sweetness and aromatic complexity. This unique product stands out not only for its organoleptic qualities, but also for its roots in an authentic, proudly claimed local history.
This excellence has been officially recognized with the award of a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), a quality label that places Acérum alongside the greatest international spirits, just like Scotch or Bourbon in their region of origin. For the producers, this recognition represents the culmination of several years' collective work to formalize strict specifications guaranteeing the product's traceability and authenticity. By committing to these standards, each distiller promises consumers impeccable quality and an authentic experience, an undeniable reflection of the Quebec identity.
As a result, Acérum du Québec is much more than a spirit: it's a true emblem of local heritage, appealing to connoisseurs of new products and fine spirits. Thanks to this controlled appellation, it benefits from enhanced visibility and positioning on both national and international markets, inviting everyone to discover and celebrate the richness of Quebec's terroir products.
This creation embodies the refined flavors of Quebec's terroir, fusing artisanal spirits. The base is Acérum de la Distillerie de Mitis, a spirit that imparts a woody, caramelized richness. This spirit is blended with unaged Fove Acerum. Its organoleptic profile remains fresh and indicative of its origin. To the eye, this spirit has a transparency that reflects its youth and purity.
To deepen the boreal notes, add Labrador tea liqueur from Distillerie du Fjord. This liqueur, with its resinous, herbaceous aromas, is made from Labrador tea, an emblematic plant of the boreal forests. It adds an authentic, wild identity.
Lime juice adds acidity to balance the wintergreen syrup made with Harrington Breuvages sparkling water. It's an exquisite syrup that's truly worth discovering, with its minty, slightly spicy notes. The finishing touch is provided by the use of light Tonic 1642, which prolongs the aromas with its fine bubbles and elegant bitterness.
