Quebec version of rum & coke

Ingredients 

  • 2 oz Chic Choc rum, iced
  • 1/2 cup 1642 Maple Cola
  • 1 lime
  • 3 tbsp. mint, fresh
  • 1/3 cup sugar, white or coconut
  • Ice

Preparation (syrup):

  1. In a saucepan, dissolve sugar over medium heat in 1/2 cup water. 
  2. Once the syrup has come to the boil, stir well, lower the heat and add the lime juice and zest.
  3. Leave to stand for 5 minutes
  4. add the fresh mint and forget about it for another 5 minutes. 
  5. Strain and refrigerate.

Preparation (cocktail):

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice, then add the rum, syrup and cola.
  2. Garnish with sliced lime and serve. Cheers!
