This crazy idea owes its colors to the post-holiday season. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol that night, so I tried adding tonic syrup to regular tonic water. The result is a terrific, less bitter, easy-drinking mocktail that will confound all Gin & Tonic lovers.

Ingredients
- 1642 Tonic
- 1 oz syrup tonic your choice (love tonic, tonic québécois, tonic floral, gym tonic)
- Citrus zest (for decoration)
- Ice cubes
Preparation
- Add the syrup to a tall glass, except for the sparkling tonic water, and fill with ice cubes.
- Mix with a chopstick or bar spoon until your fingers are cool.
- Complete with 1642 Tonic
- Decorate with a citrus peel of your choice.
