Discovering a gin means exploring its aromatic nuances and distinctive flavors. And what better way to do this than with a gin tonic? This iconic cocktail highlights the intrinsic qualities of gin. The tonic plays an equally crucial role. It's important to choose a quality tonic , with balanced bitterness and fine bubbles. The tonic should not overwhelm the gin's aromas, but rather enhance them.
Gin & Tonic - Vent Du Nord alludes to the sea, as far as the eye can see, and the constant, powerful winds of the Cap-Chat region. For its creation, I use Pin Gris gin, made from jack pine needles and cones picked in the Gaspé forest. In addition to jack pine, the gin is infused with 13 fruits, spices and botanicals, creating a rich aromatic complexity. I combine a small amount of limoncello and raspberry liqueur to make the blend more complex. These two products are also produced by the Cap-Chat distillery.
Light 1642 tonic is used to lengthen the mix, while a skewer of raspberries, juniper berries and a sprig of rosemary garnish the cocktail.
