Drinking a Gin & Tonic is always interesting. It's full of flavor, freshness and discovery. Each gin has a unique aromatic profile, depending on the ingredients used and their proportions. It's this aromatic diversity that makes gin so interesting and allows for a variety of pairings with tonic. Personally, I like to pair it with other spirits in small doses to bring out a higher level of complexity. Gin & Tonic - Rose Des Vents is made with spirits produced by Distillerie Vent du Nord. The spirits from this distillery represent a true story of North Shore terroir.
At the heart of this blend is Arkosa Gin. This gin forms the base of the blend, with its aromatic notes of sea buckthorn, cranberry and dune pepper. Nord has a powerful yet refined taste profile. Arkosa gin is complemented by two precious liqueurs. Liqueur de Griotte, with its fruity intensity, brings the tangy depth and richness of black cherries. Liqueur d'Églantine completes the picture. This liqueur, extracted from the fruits of wild rose and balsam myrtle infused with camerise and aronia berry, infuses floral and herbaceous notes.
The spirits are then blended with the light tonic 1642. Its lightness allows the spirits to express themselves fully. Garnishes are the finishing touch to a Gin & Tonic. For this creation, I use a skewer of juicy cherries to reinforce the fruity intensity of the Morello cherry. A few juniper berries recall the intrinsic nature of gin, while adding a discreet resinous fragrance. And finally, a blood orange chip adds a zesty note and a touch of vibrant color.
Here's a Gin & Tonic with a rosy color and summery flavors that are authentic, complex, fruity and floral!
