The F show took place last weekend in Gaspé as part of a committed initiative by the Regroupement des Femmes de La Côte-de-Gaspé. Nearly 150 artists, singers, actresses, musicians and extras joined forces on stage to forcefully denounce violence against women and raise public awareness of the persistence of this injustice. This artistic gathering reflected a powerful message of solidarity that seeks to transform society's view of the issues of feminicide, racism, colonialism and domestic violence.
The choice of title, simple and full of meaning - "F" for proud, strong, feminist and, for the reminder of feminicides - reflects the determination to break the silence in the face of such violence. Dressed all in white, the women demonstrated their commitment with songs, stories and comedy. This attire symbolizes both clarity and the face of the violence denounced.
I took the liberty of symbolizing a cocktail to underline this great show. Like the artists' outfits, it too adopts an immaculate identity. It looks like an all-white drink with a refined texture.
The cocktail I've named Magie F uses O'Dwyer Distillery's Radoune gin as its base. It offers a refined botanical base that blends with a delicate floral touch, notably reminiscent of the roses that were a central theme of the evening. Elderberry liqueur adds a floral and fruity touch that softens the intensity of the gin, subtly recalling the rose theme. Humble Litchi, produced by Distillerie du Quai, adds a particularly unique and refined dimension to this all-white cocktail. This spirit is distinguished by its freshness and lightness. It bridges the gap between the botanical complexity of Radoune gin and the floral delicacy of elderflower liqueur.
This combination of immaculate white and delicate floral aromas bridges a message of resilience.
